For Dr. Thu De, the journey to Odonto-Stomatology was not a clear direction from the start, but stemmed from an unforgettable family memory. Witnessing her sister having several teeth extracted that could have been saved, Dr. Thu De realized that incorrect treatment can have long-term effects on a person’s life. Her sister’s simple suggestion about studying dentistry to take care of the family became a turning point. From that moment, her career choice was no longer a personal decision, but a promise carried throughout her professional journey.

After nearly twenty years in dentistry, Dr. Thu De did not choose a broad path, but decided to go deep into a specific area: the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). This was not an easy choice in the past, when this field did not receive much attention. However, during treatment, she realized that many problems patients faced, from pain and fatigue to facial asymmetry, were related to this joint. More than ten years of focused research and accumulated experience have helped Dr. Thu De build a solid professional foundation, while bringing noticeable improvements to hundreds of patients each year. For her, the difference lies not in doing a lot, but in doing it deeply enough to create true value.

In 2010, Dr. Thu De decided to establish Lovely Dental, also originating from a similar concern. In her practice, Dr. Thu De noticed many patients who had prior dental interventions but had not been treated correctly, especially regarding occlusion and chewing function. Building her own clinic helped her pursue a long-term treatment perspective, prioritizing the preservation of natural teeth and focusing on function instead of just improving aesthetics. The early days were not easy, from building trust with customers to financial and operational pressures. However, it was those difficulties that shaped a sustainable professional philosophy, putting expertise and kindness first.

In recent years, Dr. Thu De has noticed a clear shift in cosmetic dentistry trends. If previously many people chose porcelain teeth for a quick change, now the demand for preserving natural teeth is increasing. The development of orthodontics and diagnostic technology helps bite adjustment become more accurate, while improving chewing function and reducing the risk of long-term problems. Her view is very clear: if natural teeth can be kept, they should be prioritized, as that is the most sustainable solution for oral health.

One of the highlights of Dr. Thu De’s practice is the emphasis on correct diagnosis. According to her, no matter how modern the technique or technology, if the diagnosis is wrong from the start, the entire treatment process will not bring value. Therefore, building the team at Lovely Dental also focuses on treatment mindset before technical training. Each member needs to clearly understand the long-term goal of each treatment case, thereby ensuring consistency in the quality of patient care.

Besides professional work, Dr. Thu De also pursues the life philosophy of “Tam An Nhien Tinh.” This is not only a personal view but also the way she maintains persistence in the profession. “Tam” (Heart) is putting the patient’s interests first, “An” (Peace) is stability in expertise, “Nhien” (Natural) is aiming for natural beauty, and “Tinh” (Stillness) is patience during the treatment process. When awareness changes, prevention will become the foundation for a healthier generation.
