While some fashions are timeless, most are fads. The definition of “in style” is continuously evolving, and looking back at things from different decades makes many of them seem absurd. 1. Scarves on scarves<\/h2>\n

Scarves had a real moment back in the day \u2013 both indoors and out. These scarves often clash with clothing due to their bold colors and patterns. To be seen as an accessory, they must be neutral in color and provide warmth.<\/p>\n

2. Pants with too many pockets<\/h2>\n

Cargo pants were particularly affected, although it was true of all baggy pants from the 1980s until the early 2000s. They were outmoded and made everyone appear heavier than they were. The worst were JNCO jeans. These extra pockets were never used, although they were cute back then.<\/p>\n

3. Leggings with skirts or dresses<\/h2>\n

This combination would raise many eyebrows nowadays. These items are normally worn alone or with tights nowadays, and when combined, they might look chaotic and busy. Leggings are a trend unto themselves now!<\/p>\n

4. Leg warmers<\/h2>\n

In the 1980s, fitness celebrities and actresses like Jane Fonda wore these distinctive leg wear pieces all the time. While they were created for actresses, many girls and women wore them with sneakers, boots, and flats. They were even on their arms!<\/p>\n

5. Layering lots of bracelets<\/h2>\n

Today, a single bracelet or a few simple bangles suffice. Women used to wear a variety of bracelets, some similar in design and others wholly unique. This accessory was formerly ubiquitous, from silicone wristbands to chunkier monstrosities.<\/p>\n

6. Hair feathers<\/h2>\n

Hair extensions are popular nowadays, but few ladies wear feathers in their hair. Although models, celebrities, and fashionistas sported these nature-inspired hair decorations decades ago, more current designs have supplanted them.<\/p>\n

7. Netted\/mesh clothing<\/h2>\n

To overlay textures and seem like punk rock in the day, this style was worn with net-like shirts, dresses, and sleeves. They unraveled easily and were difficult to maintain. These outfits are strictly beachwear today.<\/p>\n

8. Bandana shirts<\/h2>\n

Bandana tops were definitely a thing in the 1990s. Why wouldn’t you wear them with a belly ring and those big pocket jeans? The girls paired them with low-rise jeans for a cringe-worthy look.<\/p>\n

9. Wedge sneakers<\/h2>\n

Wedge sneakers were huge in the mid-2000s, but they aren’t so hot now. They were a good way to add height while keeping the shoe’s look and feel. Now it’s more common to see clunky throwback sneakers or running shoes.<\/p>\n

10. Trucker hats<\/h2>\n

Remember Von Dutch hats? They were expensive, ugly, and intrusive. But these hats never made a reappearance, instead they faded away. Everyone who possessed one of these was undoubtedly humiliated.<\/p>\n

11. Furry boots<\/h2>\n

In the winter, everyone has a pair of Uggs, but rarely do you see a pair of fuzzy boots, which were popular around the same time as Moon Boots. Snooki popularized them, but other celebrities have worn them as well.<\/p>\n

12. Platform sandals<\/h2>\n
