Photo: Le Phan \/ Tuoi Tre<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The suspension, which was approved by the city\u2019s chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong as per a proposal\u00a0by\u00a0the municipal Department of Transport, will\u00a0take effect\u00a0on Wednesday, April 1,\u00a0and last until April 15.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The measure is considered necessary and practical as Ho Chi Minh City\u00a0joins the nation in entering\u00a0<strong>two critical weeks<\/strong>\u00a0in the\u00a0fight against COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">More than 3,000 public buses are currently operating on over 200 routes in the southern metropolis, according to the transport department.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The city has\u00a0already\u00a0<strong>suspended\u00a054 bus routes<\/strong>, as well as banning\u00a0all intercity buses, since Saturday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vietnam has confirmed 204 cases of novel coronavirus infection\u00a0so far, with 55 having walked out of the hospital free of the virus as of Monday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ho Chi Minh City has reported 47 cases, ten of whom have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Globally, the virus has infected more than 784,000 people, with over 37,700 fatalities registered, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Health\u2019s statistics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over 164,700 cases have recovered worldwide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Source: tuoitrenews<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ho Chi Minh City will suspend all public buses in the city for 14 days to help combat the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19)\u00a0epidemic.
