The American Red Cross recommends drinking an extra 4 glasses, or 32 ounces, of liquid in the first 24 hours after donating blood.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Food to avoid after blood donation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Certain food substances and nutrients interact with the absorption of iron. Make sure you do not consume such foods with iron-containing foods.
