However, older men are more likely to become seriously ill than women of the same age.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, immunologist Akiko Iwasaki, Yale University (USA) and colleagues have published a study on the Nature website on the immune system by gender. Accordingly, men produce a weaker immune system against the virus than women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Therefore, men over the age of 60 may need more dependence on the vaccine to protect themselves against the possibility of Covid-19 infection.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4936\" src=\"http:\/\/lavyon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"409\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lavyon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image.jpg 660w, https:\/\/lavyon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-300x186.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The above conclusion is similar to previous studies on the male-female immunological difference faced by different challenges.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women have a stronger and faster immune response than men, possibly because their bodies are used to fighting off threatening pathogens when they are pregnant or have just given birth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>However, over time, the immune system remains on high alert that can cause harm. Autoimmune diseases &#8211; an overly strong immune response &#8211; are more common in women than in men.<\/p>\n<p>However, this study also has limitations when it is conducted on a small number of samples and all patients are over 60 years old.
