The CBBC children’s TV channel announced the sad news on October 1: “We are deeply saddened to announce the news that Archie Lyndhurst – the actor shone with the role of Ollie<\/em> in the movie So Awkward<\/em> on CBBC – has passed away after while time of illness. Archie will be remembered forever in the hearts of colleagues and fans who have followed Ollie character throughout this movie.”<\/p>\n

Archie’s parents shared on the BBC that they are heartbroken and looking forward to privacy during this time. Archie is the only child of famous television actor Nicholas Lyndhurst and ballerina Lucy Smith.<\/p>\n

Archie Lyndhurst succeeds her father, acting at the age of 10. In addition to the film So Awkward<\/em>, Archie also voiced the video game Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward<\/em> and starred in the BBC comedy Bad Education<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Whitehall wrote a tribute on Instagram, saying he will \u201cnever be forgotten\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cArchie Lyndhurst came in to my life nearly 10 years ago, playing the young me in a short film I\u2019d written,\u201d he said. \u201cHe was brilliant, so talented and funny. An utter joy to work with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whitehall added: \u201cI have no doubt he would have had a long and illustrious career and would have continued lighting up the lives of all those who encountered him.\u201d Archie had been taking shopping to the home of Whitehall\u2019s parents during lockdown when they could not leave, he added.<\/p>\n

The Game of Thrones<\/em> actor Samuel Small wrote a tribute to his friend, saying: \u201cTo my brother Archie. I still can\u2019t quite comprehend that you have passed. You still had so much life to live and I\u2019d give anything for you to keep on living it.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy heart aches all day and every day thinking about you and I just wish I could talk to you just one more time so you could know how much I loved you. I vow to make you proud with every last breath. Love you from now until infinity. Rest in power bro.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cArchie loved his friends and family so so dearly and we hope he knows how much he truly was loved.\u201d<\/p>\n
