According to Indian media, the victim informed her parents of the rape at a private hospital in Manjhanpur, Uttar Pradesh state, shortly before her death. Before that, the victim was admitted to the hospital with fever and stomach pain.<\/p>\n

When the victim’s father reported the incident to the hospital administration, he was told that his daughter was mentally ill. However, refusing to give up, the father continued to meet with high-ranking local officials and sought to investigate the truth.<\/p>\n

Currently the case of gang rape and murder is being investigated by the police. However, the doctor and staff believed to be involved in the incident fled.<\/p>\n

A senior official of Manjhanpur announced that the government would take drastic action to reassure people. “We will have severe sanctions on the accused. This hospital will have its license canceled,” he said.<\/p>\n

Even so, the hospital manager, Sanjiv Kumar, is dismissing the accusation and saying it is a “conspiracy”.<\/p>\n
