“Go with the Flow”: Pianist Dana Ciocarlie Brings Music Connecting the Loire and Mekong Rivers

The French Institute in Vietnam has just announced a special tour by talented French pianist Dana Ciocarlie, with a meaningful solo project: “Drifting with the Water – from the Loire to the Mekong”. The program is not only a top-notch musical event but also a profound cultural dialogue, honoring the friendship between France and Vietnam and sending a message about ecology.

Musical Journey of Two Rivers

The project “Drifting with the Water” was conceived from the meeting and friendship between Dana Ciocarlie and Anne Nguyen, a French person of Vietnamese origin. They shared the idea of an artistic symbol like a bridge connecting two legendary rivers: the Loire in France and the Mekong in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

Dana Ciocarlie’s solo is a journey of harmony between periods and musical inspirations, weaving a dialogue around the theme of water and ecology. The program is expected to perform works by French composers associated with the Loire River such as Henri Dutilleux and Francis Poulenc, classical masters such as Ravel, Debussy, Fauré, along with contemporary composers. In particular, the program will feature works that directly address the theme of water such as Ton That Tiet (Vietnam) with the work Dai Duong; Édith Canat de Chizy (France) with the work Sailing.

The recital promises to be a lyrical poem, paying tribute to the friendship between France and Vietnam, and honoring the power of water – the source of life and endless inspiration.
