Oscars 2020: The Best-Dressed Stars on the Red Carpet

Hollywood’s biggest night didn’t disappoint in the style department.

Awards season came to a glamorous conclusion on February 9 with the 2020 Oscars. While the nominations weren’t as diverse as we would have liked, the style of the stars who attended did not disappoint. Granted, the fashion we saw on this carpet was safer and more straightforward than the Grammys and Golden Globes, but it still felt special. This is Hollywood’s biggest night, after all. The stars have to bring their A-game. (Well, the female stars have to, at least. Men just wear the same black tuxes and get away with it, but that’s a rant for later.)

Some of our favorites from tonight included our January cover star Margot Robbie, Natalie Portman, and Cynthia Erivo, but they weren’t the only ones who owned the night.

Below, our picks for the Oscars 2020 best-dressed celebrities on the red carpet:

Redcarpet2020 6 1

Margot Robbie

The Oscars red carpet is all about glamour, and Margot Robbie channels that perfectly with a romantic Chanel dress and red lip.

Redcarpet2020 9

Regina King

Bow down: Regina King looks absolutely royal in this Versace gown. Look for her on every Oscars best-dressed list this year.

Redcarpet2020 7

Brie Larson
The cape! The leg! This Celine dress is a complete dream on Brie Larson.

Redcarpet2020 10

Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish has a signature style, and we appreciate her for staying true to that no matter the occasion. This white Chanel suit is on-brand for the Grammy Award-winning singer while still feeling luxe enough for a black-tie event.

Redcarpet2020 1

Janelle Monáe
Janelle Monáe owns every red carpet she steps foot on, but this silver Ralph Lauren dress feels like a defining style moment for the star.

Redcarpet2020 2

Florence Pugh
The Little Women actor looks modern and cool in this Louis Vuitton look thanks to that stunning teal color.

Redcarpet2020 4

Cynthia Erivo
Cynthia Erivo is the real style star this awards season, and she capped it off with this gorgeous Versace gown.

Redcarpet2020 3

Natalie Portman
Often, the key to a look is in the details. Case in point: Natalie Portman’s Dior cape features the names of the talented women—like Greta Gerwig (Little Women), Lulu Wang (The Farewell), and Lorene Scafaria (Hustlers)—who were snubbed in the 2020 Oscars’ all-male directing category.

Redcarpet2020 5

Renée Zellweger
Renée Zellweger’s white Armani Privé dress is minimalism at its best.
