According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention Africa (CDC Africa), the death rate from Ebola in this latest outbreak is up to 45%.

So far, the Democratic Republic of the Congo reported 11 cases of Ebola virus infection including 4 deaths and 2 recovered cases, while Guinea confirmed 18 cases including 9 deaths and 2 recovered.
The Ebola outbreak in these two countries is worrying Africa as the continent is still struggling with the Covid-19 pandemic. The Ebola outbreak in West Africa between 2014 and 2016 caused more than 28,600 illnesses, of which more than 11,300 people died.
