The 2021 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles just ended with a big win for the female artists. 31-year-old singer Taylor Swift won the Album of the Year award with Folklore. This is the third time Taylor has won an award in this category, after the 2010 album Fearless and the 1989 album in 2016, helping to set the Grammy record. In total, Taylor Swift has 11 Grammy Awards in her music career over 10 years.

Taylor Swift was thrilled to receive the Album of the Year award.

In the speech, Taylor thanked the producers, sound engineer and actor Joe Alwyn: “I want to thank Joe – the first person who heard me perform each song as I wrote. I had the best time when I wrote songs with you between my days of isolation.” The singer also thanked the couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds and the three daughters of the Hollywood star couple: “I would like to thank little James, Inez and Betty – their parents are the second and third people to hear me sing each song on this album.”

Taylor Swift’s Folklore album previously received 5 Grammy nominations and was the best-selling album in 2020.

Beyonce is the lead nominee this year in nine categories. The 39-year-old Diva won three awards: Best R&B Performance with Black Parade, Best Rap Song with Savage and Best Music Video with Brown Skin Girl. This achievement helped Beyonce become the female artist to win the most Grammy awards in history with a total of 28 times.

“I’ve worked all my life on a passion for music. It was a miracle night,” said Beyonce as she accepted the award.
