The Bloomberg News reported that Mr.Meadows had not yet remembered when he had Covid-19. A source revealed that he announced the news to some of his closest advisers after November 3.

Neither Mr. Meadows nor White House spokesman responded to the news.

In addition to Mr. Meadows, Nick Trainer, a campaign assistant to President Donald Trump, is also infected. Mr.Trainer and campaign spokesman declined to comment.

According to one source, Mr. Meadows is still involved in Trump’s post-election efforts to race against former Vice President Joe Biden in many states. The sources all requested anonymity as these are two unpublished cases.

More than 30 people who have contact with the US president or work in the White House have been infected with Covid-19, including Mr Trump, First Lady Melania and youngest son Barron Trump since late last month. It is known that Mr. Meadows was on duty when the president was hospitalized for Covid-19.

Trump’s anti-epidemic approach has been rated as lousy in polls by most Americans and is seen as the main reason Trump is at risk of losing to his rival Biden.

In another development, John Hopkins University said the US has just set a record for the third consecutive day for the number of new infections per day when it recorded more than 127,000 cases of Covid-19 on November 7. Meanwhile, the number of deaths within 24 hours is 1,149 cases.

The epidemic broke out for weeks across America, with the Midwest region being the hardest hit. Although the death toll is still far below the epidemic peak earlier this year, November 7 is the fourth consecutive day that the number of deaths has exceeded 1,000. As of the evening of November 7 (local time), the US had recorded more than 236,000 deaths from Covid-19 and 9.7 million infections.
