Bad news for Trump: White House Chief of Staff infected with COVID-19

According to Bloomberg, Mr. Mark Meadows is the latest White House official to become infected with COVID-19 after an outbreak in the agency broke out in early October.

Mr. Meadows is said to have informed close officials of the illness after election day November 3.

CNN also reported that Mr. Meadows was infected with COVID-19, citing White House officials. However, this information has not been confirmed.

It is not clear when Mr. Meadows was infected with COVID-19, as well as the source of the infection.

As the White House Chief of Staff, Mr. Meadows regularly communicates with the President. Notably, Mr. Meadows also attended Mr. Trump’s election night party, along with hundreds of other guests.

Before that, Mr. Trump and First Lady Melania received a positive result on October 1, and were declared cured after 10 days of treatment.

Information about Mr. Meadows was released in the context of the US just set a record for the number of new cases of COVID-19 in a day, with more than 121,000 cases recorded on 6 November.
