China zoo ‘tries to pass dog off as wolf’

The images were shared on social media by a visitor to Xiangwushan Zoo in Xi’an, Hubei Province, and saw a dog (apparently) Rottweiler breed sleeping in a cage.

Speaking to Beijing News, Mr. Xu, who filmed the clip, said he asked the zoo staff why there was a dog inside the barn and was told “Yes, it’s a wolf”!

According to the employee, there was indeed a real wolf in the barn, but it had passed away a long time ago of loneliness in old age. And this crane is a zoo locked in here for decoration, also convenient to lie there … looking like the zoo!

An unnamed staff member also revealed that the zoo was not doing well financially, there were not “enough visitors to keep the zoo running well”.

The local Department of Forestry has requested the zoo to remove the sign, leading to disastrous misunderstanding.

As soon as the clip was posted online, many netizens made a teasing comment saying: “Ah see the dog, but where is the wolf, bro?” – “At least let the Husky come in and look for him to be up to the barn”.
