Climate change: Thousands of people were evacuated due to hurricane Molave, Philippines issued the highest storm warning

According to experts, the storm, internationally known as the Molave, will strengthen even more when facing the sea and then reach its maximum within the next 24 hours.

Typhoon Molave hit the coasts of the Philippine archipelago on October 25, affecting more than 900,000 people in the area. Heavy rains submerged villages, agricultural fields, and power supplies cut off and leveled hundreds of houses. After the Philippines began declaring a hurricane emergency, tens of thousands of people remained asylum seekers in reception centers.

So far, the Philippines has recorded 9 deaths due to the storm. However, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of the Philippines, this figure is likely to increase in the coming hours.

Currently, 12 people, mainly fishermen, have been missing after being swept away by the floods. According to Philippine rescue forces, more than 70,000 people had to relocate to 800 evacuation centers scattered around the archipelago.

Storms and floods are a frequent phenomenon in this area and cause widespread damage in many cases. In the Philippines, super typhoon Haiyan in 2013 left more than 7,300 people dead and missing.

Hurricane Molave (typhoon No. 9) is currently heading to the Vietnamese mainland. Vietnamese officials are racing against time to try to mitigate the effects of the Molave storm that is expected to hit the coast of central provinces in the coming hours. Currently, evacuation activities for 1.3 million people in the area have been deployed. In recent weeks, Vietnam has been hit hard by floods, causing millions of dollars in loss of life and property.
