Norma Cappagli, 81, had an accident on December 17 while walking near her home in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She was taken to hospital with a serious head injury. After six days in a coma, she took her last breath at the hospital on Thursday.
The granddaughter of the beauty queen Carla Cappagli said: “I want to make it clear that my aunt died from a car crash, not for any other reason. Covid-19 has not affected her despite the pandemic. She died from the bus driver’s negligence. We were in deep pain. ” 28-year-old driver is currently arrested for investigation after the accident.
The granddaughter said Norma Cappagli is taking care of abandoned animals at a train station in the city. She loves animals very much and also takes care of a cat in her own home. Before the accident, the beauty queen was still very healthy and planned to travel to Uruguay with her sister next year.
Norma Cappagli once experienced a brilliant youth in both beauty and career. At the age of 21, she was crowned Miss World 1960, bringing home the first prestigious crown for her country. At the final of the competition held in London, she received a prize of £ 500 in cash and a sports car.
