Hair During Menstruation

Our hair during menstruation is affected.

Even if you don’t enjoy it, you will still get your period. We’re exposed to more hormones during our period than on other days. This hormone has a broad impact on our physical and emotional well-being.

1. Your hair has become greasier.
Your hormones may shift with your menstruation. You secrete more sebum as a consequence, which means your body produces more testosterone. Oily, sticky, and greasy hair results.

Washing your hair after 45 years may alleviate greasiness, but this may lead to dry hair. However, a good dry shampoo may be suitable for your hair during menstruation. This will freshen your hair, as well as remove extra oil.

2. Your scalp is sensitive
During your period, your hormones rule everything. Therefore, they may indirectly regulate your scalp. When your period begins, you begin producing hormones that make your scalp hurt.

While combing your hair, be gentle. Avoid pulling and tugging. For gentler brushing, you may opt for a wide-toothed comb or a soft hairbrush.

3. You will lose hair

As your testosterone levels increase, your estrogen levels will gradually decline. As levels of estrogen decrease, your iron levels also go down. Your hair during menstruations will lose more throughout your period because of this. Hemorrhages may often cause thinning and hair loss.

For this, you must see your doctor if your hair loss is severe. Do not braid your hair and avoid tight hairstyles to minimize additional hair loss.

So, as with the varying amounts of your hormones, your hair reacts in accordance, and this is quite normal.
