The increased infectivity of the new SARS-CoV-2 variant in all age groups

Royal University London of England recently published a research result showing, the new variant of Covid-19 not only had a higher rate of infection, but also increased infectiousness across all age groups compared with the conventional strain of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

According to a report published yesterday by Imperial College London (January 1), the new variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is able to infect and develop at any age, instead of mostly thriving in Elderly group or people with background disease like common virus strain. The report also stressed that the rate of Covid-19 infection in the UK, the first country to detect a new virus strain, increased rapidly to 1.3.

Previously, according to the initial assessment of British researchers, the new strain of SARS-CoV-2 virus had a maximum infection rate of 0.7, most likely to develop only in young people. But the latest reports have disproved this hypothesis and prove the danger level of the new virus strain. Experts said that this is “a wake-up call” for the British government in not “vigorously” imposing epidemic restrictions. /.
