Instructions For Lightening Hair Without The Use Of Bleach

When it comes to lifting and whitening dark hair, Blondor is our first and most trusted recommendation. A variety of formulations are available, ensuring that a Blondor product is suitable for every look – from balayage to highlights and everything in between. Some consumers, on the other hand, may inquire as to whether you can lighten their dark hair without using bleach. And the answer is, to put it bluntly, affirmative. In fact, there are a variety of approaches that may be used.

Voilà, three bleach-free ways for adding volume to virgin hair, plus a bonus suggestion for those working with previously colored hair. Get the scoop on the lighting…

1. For a soft, subtle lift, use the following: Color touch with a demi-permanent finish

Use demi-permanent Color Touch Sunlights on brunette hair for customers who want the most gentle lift to brighten their locks. This ammonia-free solution softly improves strands without damaging them. It’s ideal for adding sun-kissed highlights that are just faintly contrasted against the foundation, and it’ll help you create the type of ribbons that you’ll blink and miss because they shimmer in the light.

We recommend this procedure for customers who have never lightened their hair before and are apprehensive about making the transition, but who want to add a bit of dimension to their hair while also increasing its volume. Simply choose a target shade that is brighter than their natural color, then mix it with Color Touch Emulsion 4 percent to get up to two degrees of lift. Because the regrowth will be very soft, this is a look that will require little care in the long run.

2. For brighter lightening: Permanent Illumina color or Koleston perfect

Clients who want a low-commitment shade should go for demi-permanent color; however, if they want their dream hue to last longer, they should experiment with a permanent hair color product. Not only does this provide longer-lasting color, but it also provides a more apparent lift to the face. It won’t brighten to the same extent as Blondor, but it will add some lovely bronde tones to brunette locks that will be quite flattering.

The key is to start by selecting the appropriate product. Permanent formulations are available in the Wella color range in two varieties: radiance-boosting Illumina Color and pure-pigment Koleston Perfect. Illumina creates a sheer yet focused finish that enhances the light reflections in your client’s hair while maintaining its natural appearance. Koleston Perfect veils, on the other hand, provide up to 100 percent coverage for grays while providing a dramatic finishing touch.

Once you’ve determined which product will best achieve your client’s desired appearance, you’ll need to incorporate a developer to lighten the hair. We prescribe Welloxon Perfect, which has been custom-blended to help them achieve their desired amount of lift. Choose 6 percent for a lift with up to one level, 9 percent for a lift with up to two levels, and 12 percent for a lift with up to three levels. Use foils or a balayage method to apply color from root to tip. You may also use a first-time application method to get a full-head color effect for an even more expressive finish.

3. Koleston Perfect Special Blondes are excellent for turning brown hair blonde.

Turning dark hair blonde without the use of bleach may seem like an impossible task, but due to Koleston Perfect’s Special Blondes portfolio, the procedure can be accomplished successfully. The 11 blonde colors provide instant lifting and toning in one step, allowing you to take dark hair all the way up to platinum blonde — without the need for a pre-lightening treatment.

To lighten locks, you’ll still need to use the Welloxon Perfect developer, just like you would with regular Koleston Perfect shades. A Special Blonde, on the other hand, has a different ratio, which is 1:2 instead of 1:1. Meanwhile, the amount of lift that may be achieved rises, with 9 percent developers providing up to three levels of lift and 12 percent developers providing between four and five levels of lift for brunette hair.

Choose your Special Blondes hues with care, going for 12/03 or 12/07 for a caramel blonde and 12/11 or 12/89 for ash blonde highlights through brunette hair if you want an ash blonde look.

4. Blondorplex is a product that is used to lighten colored hair.

Techniques such as those described above are intended for whitening hair that has never been colored previously. But what do you do if your client’s hair still has traces of a prior toner or lightener in it? What should you do in this situation? If your customer has already dyed their hair, a tint will not be adequate to cover the color. If you wish to minimize oxidative color depth and tone, Color Renew is a mild alternative to persulfate-based treatments that you can use (pre-lighteners). This will help to decrease oxidative color while yet preserving the natural melanin in the hair.

We propose that you use Blondor on your clients’ hair to further decrease it while lifting the hair. If your customer is hesitant because they are concerned about being damaged, there is a simple solution. Take a look at BlondorPlex, which is a hair lightener that also works as a bone strengthener. We’ve injected it with our WellaPlex No1 Bond Maker, which helps to strengthen the internal hair connections as the hair is being lifted. With it, you can do anything from balayage to highlights to ombre and all-over coloring while reducing breakage by up to 97 percent for your customers. Just be sure to rinse thoroughly with WellaPlex No2 after the color has formed completely.

After that, make certain that consumers maintain a regular hair care routine. The ColorMotion+ collection has everything customers need to achieve bright color and improved condition in one package. Suggest that they use the Color Protection Shampoo and Color Reflection Conditioner first, followed by the Structure+ Mask as a weekly treatment if they can only test three items.
