Intermittent fasting, according to Chris Hemsworth’s trainer, is ‘crazy’ effective for weight loss.

Chris Hemsworth is best known for his godlike physique as Thor, and developing and maintaining Marvel muscles requires a great deal of dedication and strategy.

However, his trainer stated that his proudest moment was convincing Hemsworth to lose a significant amount of weight in order to portray a sailor following a shipwreck in 2015’s “In the Heart of the Sea.”

“Everyone associates him with Thor, where he is large and musculatured, but this was a significant accomplishment for me. It was a significant undertaking for us “Hemsworth’s longtime personal trainer and friend, Luke Zocchi, told Insider in an interview arranged by Centr, Hemsworth’s wellness app.

He stated that intermittent fasting was a critical component of his body transformation. Intermittent fasting is a popular diet technique that entails eating only during a specific window of time each day.

Intermittent fasting, according to Zocchi, has become his preferred method of boosting weight loss for celebrities and everyday dieters alike.

Intermittent fasting can help you lose weight when exercise is ineffective, Zocchi explained.

Hemsworth was required to lose as much weight as possible and continue to slim down throughout the film. Zocchi stated that it was particularly difficult because the actor was already lean from a previous role and was accustomed to intense workouts.

Hemsworth maintained a rigorous workout schedule during filming to burn calories, but exercise alone was not enough to keep him slim, Zocchi explained.

“He was so exhausted from all the training that we were unable to add any additional workouts, so nutrition was critical,” Zocchi explained.

To shake things up a bit, Hemsworth began eating all of his meals within an eight-hour window each day and fasting the remaining sixteen hours.

“We used intermittent fasting in conjunction with calorie restriction, and it was incredible how well it worked,” Zocchi said.

Intermittent fasting is not for everyone, and the evidence for its efficacy is conflicting.

However, Zocchi stated that it provided Hemsworth with an advantage in achieving his goals after they had exhausted all other options, including severe calorie restriction (at one point, Hemsworth and his costars stuck to a diet of just 500 calories a day, Entertainment Weekly reported).

Actors are required to lose weight quickly, but this can be dangerous.

Rapid, extreme weight loss can be extremely dangerous, even for actors like Hemsworth, George Clooney, and Joaquin Phoenix who have ample resources and support.

At home or without professional supervision, you should avoid attempting severe calorie restriction. Significant weight loss can also have negative consequences, such as muscle loss, which impairs strength and slows metabolism.

Actors frequently have to gain and lose significant amounts of weight for their roles, so trainers employ all available techniques to achieve the best results.

Intermittent fasting is the answer for Zocchi.

“It’s an excellent system for assisting with weight loss. I always return to that, “he stated.

Adding weight once more

Shortly after the December 2015 release of “In the Heart of the Sea,” Hemsworth bulked up for his next role in “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” and maintained a bulkier physique for his 2016 “Ghostbusters” remake.

By the time “Thor: Ragnarok” began filming in summer 2016, Hemsworth had regained his divine stature and was ready to reprise his role as the god of thunder.

Most recently, Zocchi worked with Hemsworth to help him bulk up for the upcoming film “Thor: Love And Thunder.”

On Centr Power, he has published his 10-week diet and training program — with adaptations for various levels of strength and experience.
