Lady Gaga Looks Like the Queen of New York
When she promoted her country-tinged record, Joanne, she usually wore denim cutoffs and a pink cowboy hat; when she promoted A Star Is Born, she relied heavily on classic Hollywood style with lavish dresses. She’s once again gravitating toward the classics for her current fashion mood.
Wearing an ensemble that a jazz vocalist would wear on a dimly lit stage—or that a jazz singer would wear on top of a piano!—
Lady Gaga stood in front of the Empire State Building wearing a timeless black Alessandra Rich gown and sculptural Manolo Blahnik shoes, Agnes x Simone Bodmer-Turner earrings, and Dita cat-eye sunglasses.
The ensemble is fitting, as she will play alongside Tony Bennett in a special two-night jazz event at New York City’s Radio City Hall next week. Additionally, Gaga has been on a vintage, Old Hollywood kick all month, beginning with her visit to New York following the completion of production for Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci. Perhaps she is inspired by her character’s high-drama manner (she portrays Maurizio Gucci’s homicidal ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani), or perhaps by the glitz of New York City. In any case, she is benefiting from the form-fitting shapes and high-wattage accessories. They, like Lady Gaga, want attention!
