L’Escale Resort Marina & Spa is Seychelles’ newest contribution to the hotel sector. The fresh new boutique resort will open in January 2021 on the location of the former Wharf Hotel.
From conception to completion, the project took nearly three years.
The Marina has been renovated to handle Superyachts because it is such an essential element of the Resort and we anticipate that our clients will have mooring requirements for Superyachts and sailboats.
The design and construction team, as well as the materials and furnishings, have been meticulously chosen to assure our clients’ comfort. L’Escale is all about barefoot luxury and supreme comfort.
The resort is called from the phrase “l’escale” – French for “stopover” – which is derived from the Latin word “scala,” evocative of the Ottoman Empire’s captured ports. Used to debark boats, the current phrase aptly reflects the property’s status as the best stopover for visitors traveling via air, land, or sea.

With its sleek lines and nautical accents, its architecture and interior decor are evocative of dazzling Superyacht grandeur. It is centrally located on mainland Mahé in the suburbs of the beautiful capital of Victoria and near to Eden Island. The Resort is the hallmark project of Winch Design, a London-based design company specializing in ultra-luxury design. They have a global reputation for designing and executing landmark projects on land, air, and water. L’Escale Resort Marina & Spa is Winch Design’s first venture into the luxury resort market, with L’Escale setting a high standard for their first boutique hotel project. Add Locus was Winch Design’s local counterpart on this project.
The Resort features 25 opulent guest rooms divided into Classic Rooms, Deluxe Suites, Royal Suites, Spa Pool Villas, The Penthouse, and Presidential Villas.
All rooms have a king-sized bed, complimentary Wi-Fi, a 4K Smart TV, a minibar, Theodor Tea, Nespresso Coffee, an open terrace or balcony with loungers, and spacious bathrooms with premium organic toiletries and Hermès trademark items in the Presidential Villa and Penthouse, to name a few.
Each of the Spa Pool Villas features two bedrooms as well as a separate living and television space. Guests will appreciate their own decks and plunge pools, as well as our outstanding Butler Service catering to their every need.
The Penthouse is conveniently positioned on the top floor of the main structure, accessible by an elevator. It features a separate living and dining area that is perfectly situated between two expansive bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom and breathtaking beach views. Additionally, it has a kitchen and butler area, and visitors may request a Private Chef throughout their stay.
The Presidential Villa is a self-contained, two-story structure that embodies the L’Escale brand via its opulent design, in-house facilities, and services. The Royal Suite takes up the whole top-level, including the largest attached bathroom in the resort. A second bedroom, complete with its own wide living area and luxurious comforts, is placed on the first story, while the ground floor is devoted to a big garage and lobby. Additionally, a private elevator and a huge outside deck with a private infinity pool and Jacuzzi are included.
The F&B amenities include an all-day dining restaurant where our visitors may have a delectable breakfast while overlooking Marina’s cerulean seas. When it comes to lunch and supper, let our staff tantalize your taste buds with our worldwide cuisine with a refreshing Creole twist.
Due to Seychelles’ association with sunlight, our guests enjoy enough space and comfort while enjoying the outdoors. MARINA
The opulent and exclusive Marina is a seamless extension of the resort, built to match the natural beauty. L’Escale Resort takes pride in being one of the few hotels in Seychelles capable of accommodating Superyachts. The Marina’s state-of-the-art pontoons can accommodate roughly 19 boats with a maximum length of 100 meters. Services such as power, water, and wastewater disposal can be provided.
