Q: Can you share your feelings about the America Beauty Master Festival 2024? How do you evaluate the scale and quality of the program?

Erika: The America Beauty Master Festival 2024 was an impressive event that set a high bar for beauty festivals. The level of professionalism was clear, with the organizers paying meticulous attention to detail, which elevated the entire experience. From the layout to the flow of activities, every small aspect was thoughtfully crafted and that precision made a noticeable difference in how the festival was presented and perceived.

In terms of scale, this was a major event, especially notable as the first one organized by Mimi Trinh in California. For a debut event, Mimi did an extraordinary job, creating a vibrant and engaging environment for both industry professionals and attendees. Her commitment to creating a high-quality experience was evident and her work has certainly set the stage for future festivals.

Q: Many participants commented that the America Beauty Master Festival 2024 is the event for the beauty industry with the largest scale and best organization quality in the U.S. this year. Do you agree with that?

Erika: I absolutely agree that the America Beauty Master Festival 2024 stood out as one of the largest and best-organized beauty industry events in the U.S. this year. The event’s scale was impressive, drawing an international roster of beauty masters and a wide audience, while the organization quality was truly exceptional. Every detail, from scheduling to presentation, was carefully managed, creating a seamless and enjoyable experience for both participants and attendees. This high level of professionalism has set a new standard for beauty industry events in the U.S.

Q: When did you start your career in the beauty industry, and what brought you to this industry?

Erika: I began my career in the beauty industry in 2017, initially focusing on eyelash extensions. From there, I expanded into other areas, including nails and permanent makeup, driven by a passion for helping clients look and feel their best. Each new area allowed me to develop my skills, stay on top of trends and contribute more creatively to the beauty field. The ability to make a visible impact on clients’ confidence and self-expression is what drew me to this industry and continues to inspire me every day.

My career changed in 2021, when I launched my first online championship in London, which attracted over 700 participants. The experience sparked a strong passion for event organization, as I discovered how rewarding it is to create platforms for beauty professionals to showcase their skills and connect. The following year, I organized my first live event in London, which further solidified my commitment to this new path.

Realizing how driven I felt, I transitioned from working as a beautician to focusing entirely on beauty event organization. In 2023, I organized another live event, this time in Cambodia, which brought together over 500 participants. This journey has been incredibly fulfilling and I’m excited to continue creating opportunities for others in the beauty industry.

Q: In the process of career development, what are the biggest difficulties and challenges for you? How did you overcome them?

Erika: One of the biggest challenges in my career development has been marketing and overcoming language barriers. Organizing events in different countries where I don’t speak the local language created significant hurdles, from communication with participants to navigating legal requirements.

To address these challenges, I found a trusted co-organizer who understands the local culture and language. This partnership has been invaluable, as they assist with everything from clear communication to handling legal matters, allowing me to focus on the event’s vision and organization. Collaborating with someone local has been key to overcoming these obstacles and achieving success in diverse international markets.

Q: Can you share some outstanding achievements you have achieved in the beauty industry? And what is the achievement that you are most proud of?

Erika: One of my most outstanding achievements was co-organizing a beauty event in Cambodia in 2023, marking the first event of its kind in the country’s history. Bringing a large-scale beauty event to Cambodia was incredibly rewarding, as it provided a platform for local and international beauty professionals to connect, learn and share techniques in an entirely new market.

The achievement I am most proud of is the impact this event had on the local beauty industry. It not only opened up new opportunities for Cambodian beauty professionals but also allowed me to contribute to the industry’s growth and development in a meaningful way. This event was a milestone that demonstrated the power of beauty to cross cultural boundaries and connect communities and being part of this historic moment was an honour.

Q: In your opinion, how has the global beauty industry changed since you started your career until now?

Since I started my career, the global beauty industry has undergone significant changes, driven by several key factors.

Firstly, there has been a marked shift towards inclusivity and diversity. Brands are increasingly recognizing the importance of representing various skin tones, hair types, and beauty standards, which has expanded the market and allowed more individuals to see themselves reflected in beauty products and campaigns.

Secondly, technology has played a transformative role. Social media platforms and digital marketing have revolutionized how beauty brands engage with consumers. Influencers and content creators now have a powerful voice, shaping trends and driving purchasing decisions, which has created a more dynamic and interactive relationship between brands and their audiences.

Moreover, the rise of clean beauty and sustainability has significantly influenced consumer preferences. More people are prioritizing eco-friendly products and ethical practices, pushing brands to adapt and innovate in their offerings.

Overall, the beauty industry has become more globalized, accessible and responsive to consumer needs, fostering a vibrant and ever-evolving landscape that continues to inspire creativity and connection.
