Researchers in Russia say that the Sputnik V vaccine is 92% effective in preventing Covid-19, while the AstraZeneca vaccine can be as effective as 90%. If AstraZeneca is conducting a new clinical trial, a combination regimen should be tried. The combination of vaccines is important for creating anti-viral immunity.
AstraZeneca is the most promising vaccine available today because of its low cost and the ability to transport and warrant under normal cold temperatures. AstraZeneca’s CEO, Pascal Soriot also said that the company could conduct an additional global test, to evaluate the results of the end-stage research. AstraZeneca is expected to produce 200 million doses of vaccine by the end of this year.
