Everything You Need to Know About Brows

While everyone is born with bushes above their eyes, it is possible to groom the bushes to resemble well-groomed shrubs. When it comes to brows, there are several options, but avoid overdoing it with waxing, plucking, or trimming. The worst thing you can do for your brows is to over-pluck them. The simplest way to achieve flawless eyebrows is to purchase a brow kit, which includes stencils, eyebrow powder, and a brow brush. However, not everyone can afford a kit. Here are some tips for creating the perfect brows.

How to shave your brows

When plucking your own eyebrows, keep in mind to pluck one hair at a time, to get as close to the root as possible, and to pull in the direction of hair growth. If you have sparse brows, you can fill them in with eyebrow powder and stencils; if you don’t have eyebrow powder, experiment with your eye shadow to find the closest match possible.

    1. Make small strokes with an eye shadow padded wand to fill in your brows. Additionally, eyebrow pencils are ideal for filling in sparse brows.
    2. Apply the color in small strokes, starting with the inner corner and working outward. Comb excess color from your brows with a brow brush, and then use a very small amount of brow gel or regular hair gel to finish the look.

If this is your first time plucking your brows, be mindful of the redness that will result. If you intend to leave the house, you should be prepared to explain why your brows are red. Additionally, you can use a cold washcloth to hold onto your brows to aid in follicle closure.

Determine your brow shape.

A simple method for determining your brow shape.

  • Hold a straight object vertically along the side of your nose, such as a pen, eyeliner pencil, or popsicle stick. The object you’ve raised should reach your eyebrow, indicating the point at which your brow should begin.
  • Again, use the straight object, but this time align it with the center of your eye (the pupil), as this is how you indicate the location of the arch of your brow.
  • To determine the natural end of your brow, raise the straight object so that it forms a line from the corner of your nose to the corner of your eye. The object should reach your brow, indicating the point at which it should naturally terminate.
  • If your eyes are close-set, a brow that begins slightly in from the corner of your eye will look better. Your arch will appear more attractive if it is slightly outside the center of your eye. Your brow should extend slightly beyond the outer corner of your eye.
  • If you have well-spaced eyes (an eye’s width apart), begin your brow directly above the inside corner of your eye. Your arch will appear best if it is directly above the center of your pupil. If your brow ends above the outer corner of your eye, it looks good.
  • Certain girls have eyes that are wider apart than an eye’s width, which is perfectly normal. Begin by drawing your brow closer to the nose and arching it slightly forward of the center of your eye. Your brow should end slightly above the outer corner of your eye for the best appearance.
