The Korean military has not determined the exact path of infection at the above unit. However, before that a soldier from the army unit in Gyeonggi province was sent to the Cheorwon district unit from 9-13 November.
Later, this person was found to be positive for Covid-19 and new cases appeared in the Cheorwon district army unit. The military immediately ordered travel restrictions on the soldiers, and at the same time launched the Covid-19 test for the entire unit.
The Korean Ministry of Defense decided on November 24 to extend the second level social gap order to officers of all military units in the country, instead of only applying it to officers at the unit in Seoul and the capital neighborhood, the same Gangwon province as before. After-hours officers must stay at their accommodation, parties or private meetings are not allowed. A commanding officer may restrict the leave of a soldier whose location is locally in an area where a level 2 social gap is applied.
