In fact, the medical system has proved overwhelming. A 90-year-old patient was pleaded by the ambulance staff for hospitalization, but to no avail because the department had run out of space. Authorities also confirmed that in some areas, hospitals are operating at more than 95% of capacity.
Images of morgues that could not be processed in time are raising concerns that the actual death toll is higher than the official figure of more than 33,000. There are experts who have confirmed the fact that there must be 130,000 cases, while outside the pandemic continues to rage more violently, each day is a new record.
