Celebrating Vietnamese identity through the language of fashion, designer Thiệu Vy’s ao dai collection, “Tinh Hoa Đất Việt” (The Quintessence of Vietnamese Land), curated by catwalk director and stylist Ái Trần, was a significant highlight at the 3rd Heritage Ao Dai Fest.

Inspired by the intricate brocade patterns of ethnic minorities, Thieu Vy’s “Tinh Hoa Đất Việt” Ao Dai collection offers a sophisticated and vibrant perspective on Vietnamese culture. The exquisite craftsmanship is vividly expressed on velvet and brocade fabrics, two materials symbolizing nobility, creating a harmonious ensemble that blends traditional beauty with high applicability in modern life.

The designs feature elegant and graceful silhouettes, embodying the national spirit with high collars, long sleeves, and flowing skirts. However, it’s the innovative color combinations and hand-embroidered brocade accents that breathe new, youthful life into the classic ao dai. Each outfit is like a storytelling painting, guiding viewers through diverse cultural regions, traditional stilt houses, glowing campfires, and the lullabies of the mountains and forests.

The “Tinh Hoa Đất Việt” collection recently graced the runway at the 3rd Heritage Ao Dai Fest, one of Vietnam’s most prestigious and culturally rich fashion events of the year. The show was masterfully directed by Le Viet, a director renowned for his emphasis on national identity in performance art. Notably, Thieu Vy’s close friend, Ai Tran, served as the catwalk director and stylist for the presentation, which featured Miss Vietnam Intercontinental 2018 Ngoc Châu as the vedette.

The “Tinh Hoa Đất Việt” collection is a tribute to the deep-rooted cultural values and a bold step forward in bringing Vietnamese fashion to the world with its unique identity. It’s not just fashion; it’s the soul, the history, and the national pride meticulously stitched and embroidered onto the velvet and brocade canvases of a new era.
