8 people killed in shootings at 3 Atlanta – area massage parlors

Atlanta officials are investigating whether the shootings at the three massage parlors are related to each other. Two of the shootings occurred at spas opposite each other in northeast Atlanta and the other in Cherokee county, northwest of the city. The motive for the shootings has yet to be determined.

A suspect in the shooting was detained in Crisp County, about 241 km south of Atlanta, at 20:30 on March 16, about 3.5 hours after the fatal shooting. Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office identified, the suspect was Robert Aaron Long, 21 years old, in Woodstock.

Cherokee County Police Agency spokesman Jay Baker said that after receiving the news, the local police officers went to the Young’s Asian massage parlor near Acworth, Georgia. Here, they found 5 people shot by guns. Two people were killed at the scene and the remaining three were taken to an emergency hospital. At the hospital, 2 out of 3 of these people died.

Another shooting took place in Atlanta about an hour later, 30 kilometers from the site of the first shootings. Here, 3 people were killed at the scene of the shooting at Gold Massage Spa on Piedmont Road.

Meanwhile, the police continued to receive another call about the shooting at Aroma Therapy Spa. During the shooting, one person was killed, Atlanta police chief Rodney Bryant said. Among the victims, he said, four were female and Asian.
