The Covid-19 epidemic broke out in early 2020, leaving the global aviation industry paralyzed. SpiceJet, India, has a loss of nearly 570 million rupees ($ 7.8 million) in 2020, compared with a profit of 732 million rupees ($ 10 million) at the end of 2019.

This is not the first instance of airlines seeking to survive the pandemic by expanding into new services. Last year, Qantas Airways sold sleepwear and luxury items including hand creams, tea bags, chocolate biscuits and smoked almonds. Air North, the 43-year-old Canadian airline, launches home delivery of the dishes provided on the plane. Thai Airways has opened a restaurant decorated like an airplane model and at its Bangkok headquarters to attract customers to dine.

The international aviation industry hasn’t recovered yet until immunization programs reach a certain target globally, according to CNBC. This year, the aviation industry is expected to reach 95 billion USD. This figure is almost double what the International Air Transport Association (IATA) had predicted earlier.
