With over a decade of experience, photographer MK Nguyen has become a trusted storyteller for the Vietnamese community in the United States.

After moving to the U.S. at age 15, MK carried with him a deep-seated passion for the arts. He pursued this calling at The Art Institute of California, graduating with honors. Although he initially sought stability in Information Technology, he soon realized his true fulfillment didn’t come from writing code, but from capturing the raw emotions of everyday life. This realization prompted a pivotal career shift, marking his return to professional photography.

As the founder of Nup Studio, MK has dedicated the past 10 years to serving Vietnamese families across the states. His work spans events, portraits, and weddings, but his impact goes deeper than the lens. Many clients have remained loyal for over 12 years, trusting him to document their children’s journey from infancy to adulthood. To MK, every shutter click is a commitment to preserving the milestones and memories that define a lifetime.

MK’s journey hasn’t been without its hurdles. Early in his career, financial challenges forced a temporary hiatus from the craft. However, this time away only strengthened his resolve. He returned to the industry with a more mature perspective, believing that a truly great photograph transcends technical skill—it must touch the heart and immortalize moments that time cannot replicate.
