Bill Gates reveals details of his new book on climate change

The role of book author is not a new thing for Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft and the Gates Foundation. He published his first book, The Road Ahead, in 1995 and then Business @ the Speed of Thought in 1999. Bill Gates’ next work will focus on one of the vital issues of our time: Climate change.

How to Avoid a Climate Disaster: The Solutions We Have and the Breakthroughs We Need will be published by Knopf published on February 16, 2021.

According to the book publisher’s website, Gates has spent a decade exploring the causes and effects of climate change. With the help of many experts in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, political science and finance, he focuses on what must be done to prevent the planet’s slide in the face of an environmental disaster.

In his book, Bill Gates outlines a broad, practical, and accessible plan for how global greenhouse gas emissions can be achieved to avoid climate disasters. He also clarified that achieving this goal is not simple and easy to do, but if we follow the plan he has set out, it is a solid goal within our reach. On October 19, Gates said that he proposes positive steps that individuals, governments and companies can reach.

Gates shared on Twitter: “Be inspired to see a lot of interest these days in the matter of climate change and know that the world has set some ambitious goals to address it. What we need now are realistic plans to achieve those goals.”

In August, he warned that although the COVID-19 epidemic was “terrible”, the climate change crisis could be even worse. He said that by 2100, climate change could “cause five times more deaths” than corona viruses.

He is also putting a lot of hope into the new book. “I hope to explain this science in a clear and compelling way,” Gates said in a blog post on his GatesNotes.

“I also propose a plan for what we need to do in the next decade and beyond to build tools that will help us eliminate greenhouse gas emissions, while replicating the powerful solutions we already have, “he wrote.
