This vaccine was developed by the Zhifei Longcom Anhui Biopharmaceutical Company and is the 5th Chinese Covid-19 vaccine that officially entered Phase III of an overseas clinical trial in humans.
According to information from Chinese media, the trial will last 1 year with the participation of 5,000 volunteers aged 18-59 in Uzberkistan. Now Chinese experts have come to the country to follow up on test participants and train local doctors.
This is a recombinant subunit vaccine, also the result of a collaboration between the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical Company.
Previously, according to information from the institute, the phase I clinical trial of the vaccine was conducted on healthy people aged 18-59 on June 23 in Beijing, Chongqing and Hunan. Phase II was implemented on July 10th. With results to ensure safety and immunity, this vaccine has been allowed to conduct clinical trials on people phase III before being released to the market.
