Czech Republic’s richest man killed in helicopter crash during Alaska ski trip

The PPF Group of billionaire Kellner said the accident occurred on Saturday, March 27, in the mountains of Alaska (USA) during a ski trip.

The Alaska Security Agency said on Sunday the incident had killed five people – three tourists, including Kellner, and two guides – died. The only survivor was taken to hospital.

“We announce with infinite grief that during the helicopter crash over the weekend, the founder and majority owner of the PPF group, Mr. Petr Kellner, has passed away,” quote from PPF.

Prime Minister of the Czech Republic – Andrej Babis sent his condolences to the Kellner family.

Cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

Kellner is a famous figure in the Czech Republic, with an estimated net worth of $ 17.5 billion, according to Forbes.

He became famous in the 1990s, after founding PPF as an investment company to join the privatization of hundreds of Czech state-owned companies.
