Deadly winter storm sweeps Texas and US southern states

CNN quoted information from the National Weather Service (NWS) on February 17 forecast snow will continue to fall heavily in the next three days, stretching from Texas to Mississippi and Virginia. The above warning was issued while states like Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Kentucky had power and water outages in many places, while roads were congested. To date, these states have recorded at least 26 blizzard-related deaths because of the storm.

38 hours without electricity or water because of the storm

Texas is the state that suffers from the most severe blizzards, and millions of people still struggle the Arctic with no electricity to turn on the heaters.

CNN on February 17 quoted Ms. Betsy Price, Mayor of Fort Worth (Texas), said her house was out of electricity and water for about 38 hours, and this situation is expected to continue. The snowstorm has knocked out about a third of all electricity production in the state. As of yesterday, more than 4 million people in Texas remain without electricity, including 1.4 million in the Houston metropolitan area. In City Dallas (Texas), about 25% of households have a power outage.
