During the first phase of the national vaccination program in Java and Bali, the government will use 1.2 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine made by the Chinese company Sinovac, which arrived in Indonesia on December 6. The remaining 1.8 million doses will reach the country by January 2021. In addition, the company also sends a large amount of raw vaccines to Indonesian pharmaceutical company PT Bio Farma to process finished vaccines. In addition to Sinovac, the Indonesian government also purchased several other vaccines from AstraZeneca, Moderna, as well as Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech production.

Indonesian Minister of Health, Terawan Agus Putranto said the expanded vaccination program will be launched immediately after the Food and Drug Supervisory Authority of this country grants emergency permits for the vaccines. on.

Up to now, Indonesia has recorded more than 618,000 Covid-19 cases, of which 18,819 have died.
