On November 7, many media outlets simultaneously reported that Joe Biden would become the 46th President of the United States. Accordingly, his wife, Mrs. Jill Biden, will also become the First Lady. However, if the plan to continue teaching stays in place, Jill Biden will make her own history – becoming the first lady who stays in the job after entering the White House.

Prior to that, during Joe Biden’s tenure as vice president under Obama, Ms. Biden was a full-time professor of English at the Community College of Northern Virginia on the other side of the Potomac River.

At school, Jill named only “Dr. Biden”, to avoid attracting attention about her identity. At the same time, she also told secret agents to dress like students.

Speaking with CBS back in August, Ms. Jill said: “If we make it to the White House, I will still teach. It is important that I want people to appreciate teaching and understand the contributions of teachers.”

While the position of first lady is unpaid, traditionally they have had to take on the role of the White House’s identity, such as planning Christmas decorations, organizing Easter ceremonies, state-level dinner parties …

In the past, some first ladies have been criticized for being too interfering in politics or being too indifferent to duties. Hillary Clinton, for example, spearheaded the effort to reform healthcare in her husband’s administration. Or Melania even decided not to move into the White House as soon as Donald Trump was sworn in in January 2017. Instead, Melania remained in the couple’s New York apartment waiting for her son Barron to finish school.

Ms. Jill received her doctorate from the University of Delaware. She has been teaching for many years. She only took a break from teaching for a while while helping her husband run for president.
