Korea Agency for Disease Control and Prevention (KDCA) announced that Covid-19 antibody treatment of this country is effective against the virus variant from England.
According to KDCA, a drug called “Rekkironaju”, made by the Korean biopharmaceutical company Celltrion, is able to neutralize six variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most notably, the drug inhibits the SARS-CoV2 variant from the UK, but the efficacy against the South African variant is still low.
Therefore, the Korean epidemic prevention agency plans to recommend restricting the use of this drug to patients infected with viral variants from South Africa.
