Deputy Health Minister Hugo López Gatell said: “The good news is that a few minutes ago, the vaccine testing process of Pfizer and BioNTech has ended. It was submitted to the Mexican Health Authority for evaluation on November 26 and has just been approved for emergency use to prevent the SARS-CoV-2 virus. As we discussed, four countries have so far approved for the use of this vaccine in the event of an emergency. This is a great source of our hope. “

On the same day, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also approved the Covid-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and its partner BioNTech. This is the first Covid -19 vaccine approved in the US.

Along with Mexico, the United States becomes the next country to approve the vaccine for mass vaccination, after Britain, Bahrain and Canada. But it will be the most populous country to vaccinate Covid-19 with the Pfizer vaccine.
