Everyone knows the Duchess of Sussex loves her Victoria Beckham dresses and Jimmy Choo pumps, but the new mom is certainly not above affordable pieces you can find at your local department store (or afraid of ruffling royal feathers with her edgy-for-a-princess sartorial choices).
In typical Markle fashion, the duchess tends to go for comfortable, versatile clothes and accessories, like Hunter rain boots, Veronica Beard dresses, Longchamp bags, Mother jeans, and J. Crew separates—all of which are currently on sale at Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. Even her beloved Veja sneakers are discounted, which means there’s a piece of the Duchess’ favorites for every part of your closet.
With thousands of fashion, beauty, and home deals in the mix, the annual event is the stuff of shopping legend—and people sign up weeks in advance for Nordstrom cards to prime their wish lists and get early access to the markdowns. But now that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 is available to every shopper, you’ll have full access to every corner of Nordstrom’s epic sale—whether you’re a member of the Nordy Club or not.
Nordstrom’s major shopping event goes on through August 30, so you have twelve days to shop and save on some of the best pieces out there (including Markle-approved favorites). Popular items sell out fast (like, minutes fast), and we wouldn’t be surprised if the Duchess of Sussex’s favorite brands are among the first to go during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020. Shop them all ahead.

J.Crew
Sometimes Markle wears expensive gowns to black-tie events we’ll likely never go to, and other times she wears dresses from brands we all know and can afford, like J.Crew. The denim shirtdress she’s wearing in this pic is (unsurprisingly) nowhere to be found, but lucky for you, tons of J.Crew pieces Markle would probably wear are on sale, like the crisp poplin button-up and long cardigan, below.
Longchamp
Not sure about you, but we’re living for this throwback pic of Meghan Markle and her beige Longchamp tote. So many people own (or have owned) Longchamp bags, it almost feels like a rite of passage. You’ve probably seen people carry the brand while commuting or traveling, but since we’re in the middle of summer and with no vacation plans in sight, you can totally use its packable totes for going to the park or biking to the store. Any Longchamp bag will last you years, so whether you opt for a leather duffel or the expandable Pliage, you’re getting your money’s worth.
Mother Denim
There’s no denying we love a royal-approved deal—but it’s especially sweet when it’s in the quality-denim department. Granted, if you’re wondering why you should buy jeans when you can’t even be bothered to put on leggings these days, there’s definitely a tie-in between wearing actual pants and feeling somewhat normal. And since Markle has worn Mother jeans on more than one occasion, you know these are a solid purchase. (FYI: A pair will typically cost you over $200, so the discounts below are too good to pass up.)
Veronica Beard
We always stan a high-low combo, but we’d be lying if we said we didn’t find ourselves daydreaming of Meghan Markle’s more expensive ensembles. (Exhibit A: this blue Veronica Beard shirtdress.) Thankfully, the brand is included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale with early access, which means right now is a very smart (and budget-friendly) time to treat yourself to a really good plaid blazer or some flared jeans that may have you twinning with the L.A. native.
Hunter
Meghan Markle may have relocated with her family to Los Angeles where it’s nearly 70 degrees year-round, but we’re pretty sure she packed her Hunter rain boots in her suitcase. As one of Britain’s most popular brands, Hunter is known for making shoes that are stylish, comfortable—and above all, rain- and mud-proof. And just in case you thought they weren’t versatile enough, the rubber boots come in three different heights: knee, calf, and ankle.
