According to a statement on Twitter, Mr. LaTurner received the results of COVID-19 late on Wednesday, when the US Congress was still voting to confirm Joe Biden’s victory. The session was attended by hundreds of US senators and senators. Most MPs wear masks.
“Senator LaTurner followed the advice of House health workers and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As a result, he has no plans to return to the House of Representatives to vote”, said Braden Dreiling, LaTurner’s chief of staff, in a statement.
Before that, Mr. LaTurner took samples to test according to the quarantine regulations of the District of Columbia.
Currently Mr. LaTurner still does not have any symptoms.
Jake LaTurner participated in the vote when the House of Representatives considered a protest against 11 Arizona electoral votes.
The petition was rejected with 303 votes against, and only 121 votes in favor.
After midnight, the House of Representatives continued to vote to consider the petition against Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes. However, Mr. LaTurner was unable to vote after receiving a positive result.

The results also came after a tumultuous day at the Capitol, when the meeting of Congress was halted due to riot. The riots left 4 people dead, and dozens more injured.
