Shock of how devastating Covid-19 is to the human lung

Surgeon Brittany Bankhead-Kendall of Texas Technical University Health Science Center (USA) recently showed three X-rays: One for the healthy patient, one for the smoker, and one for of Covid-19 patient.

Films of healthy people have plenty of black space, showing they can inhale the required amount of oxygen. A smoker has a lot of blurred vision, while Covid-19’s patient is almost completely blank.

Blurring of a lung scan is often an indication of fluid, bacteria, or injury and scarring.

According to Dr. Kendall, the lungs of patients experiencing Covid-19 were worse than any other smoker she had ever known.

The female doctor added that the current medical world only focuses on the death rate caused by Covid-19 without paying attention to the long-term harm of this disease on survivors.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus often causes complications such as pneumonia – a condition in which the lungs are filled with fluid and inflamed, making it difficult for the lungs to absorb as much oxygen, leading to coughing and difficulty breathing.

Some studies also found Covid-19 patients with damage to the epithelial cells that run along the trachea from the nose to the lungs.
