A volunteer of the organization KIADA (Korea International Accessible Dance Festival) revealed the lack of public interest in the festival and the continuing influenza epidemic have made KIADA’s year difficult. In addition, KIADA is not financially supported by advertising, thus this has made it even more difficult to promote the event.

After hearing the news of the self-quarantine of Song Joong-ki after he came into touch with a patient at COVID-19 on June 30, the volunteer wrote an e-mail to Song Joong-ki with the expectation that he would get a 30-second promotional video during the actor’s leisure.

Song Joong-ki wrote back to the volunteer and sought information on KIADA spanning six years. The netizens were touched by the fact that Song Joong-ki took the effort to learn about the event before he even filmed the video.

Despite delivering the materials to Song Joong-ki, the volunteer received no reply. But the promotional film, which was originally intended to be delivered in a month’s time, was released out of the blue by Song Joong-ki. Although the volunteer was unable to compensate the actor, the volunteer was touched by the dedication and effort he put into the film.

In the video, Song Joong-ki is impeccably dressed in a suit with a bow tie. He begins the video by congratulating the sixth anniversary of KIADA.

Song Joong-ki goes on to explain more about KIADA, saying that it’s a platform where dancers with disabilities can exchange artistic skills. Finally, he ends the video by encouraging viewers to support the dance festival.
