The “Hue Royal Court Music” collection by designer Ngoc Han represents a sophisticated intersection of traditional fashion and Vietnamese cultural heritage. Inspired by the UNESCO-recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the collection reimagines the majesty of the ancient imperial court through the lens of contemporary painting and design.
The soul of the collection lies in the evocative illustrations of artist Pham Trinh, whose work captures the essence of Hue’s courtly musical traditions. Designer Ngoc Han collaborated closely with the artist to select and translate these artworks onto the Ao Dai, creating a seamless bond between fine art and fashion.

The collection utilizes a palette of premium materials, including silk, brocade, and chiffon—fabrics that offer a fluid, ethereal quality while maintaining the regal elegance inherent to imperial aesthetics. Modern heat-transfer printing techniques were employed to vividly reproduce every artistic detail on the fabric. Furthermore, hand-stitched beadwork adds a delicate three-dimensional effect, enhancing the visual depth and artisanal value of each garment.
Through this collection, Ngoc Han aims to disseminate the beauty of national heritage in a way that is accessible and highly applicable to modern life. More than just fashion, each Ao Dai serves as a cultural fragment, telling the story of royal music, traditional art, and the timeless grace of Vietnam.
