Trump’s tax returns have been turned over to Manhattan district attorney

According to CNBC report on Thursday, 25 February, Danny Frost, spokesman for Attorney Vance, confirmed that the order was sent to Mazars USA accounting firm, which has long kept financial records for Mr. Trump , was complied with on Monday, hours after the US Supreme Court rejected Mr. Trump’s appeal.

Under this order, the Mazars USA company must hand over the personal records of Mr. Trump as well as the company he owns, from 2011 to the present, including tax records.

Attorney Vance did not disclose details of his investigation. However, sources have previously said that the attorney may investigate Mr. Trump and his company The Trump Organization for crimes such as bank fraud and insurance fraud.

Trump has recently denied allegations that he had shady financial behavior and accused investigators of partisan bias.

The fact that Mr. Vance has Mr. Trump’s tax documents does not mean that the public will know the details of the record. Under New York grand jury law, all documents and details discussed must be kept confidential. However, last year the New York Times said there were many details about Mr Trump’s tax records, showing that he had not paid taxes for many years.

If District Attorney Vance decides to prosecute Mr. Trump and use the available documents to file with the court, the information may be released outside.
