Earlier, Argentine Minister of Health Carla Vizzotti visited Russia on October 17 to learn more about the Russian COVID-19 vaccine as well as discuss a Sputnik-V purchase contract with a Russian partner.

The 25 million doses of this vaccine could vaccinate more than half of Argentina’s population. According to the plan, it is expected that the Sputnik-V vaccine will be administered to priority groups such as health workers, people over 60, people with risk factors, teachers and police with about 6 million qualified people.

In August 2020, Russia announced the world’s first registration of the COVID-19 vaccine and named the vaccine Sputnik-V, a famous satellite name from the Soviet era. This country has applied to the World Health Organization to apply for a license for the vaccine.
