Australia spent $ 700 million to build a vaccine factory

Under the deal, CSL’s Seqirus vaccine manufacturing arm will invest $ 580 million in a production facility in the city of Melbourne, while the government will guarantee a 10-year purchase of the company’s vaccine. The purchase agreement between Seqirus and the Australian Government will begin when the plant is completed and put into operation by 2026.

Through the above agreement, Australia will have the capacity to produce vaccines in the country and have a long-term contract to buy vaccines for the flu vaccine and anti-snake venom. CSL’s new plant will be the largest vaccine factory in the southern hemisphere.
