The Marine One helicopter was parked quietly on the south lawn of the White House. Inside, the advisors urged the US President, persuading him to board a plane to prepare for hospitalization for Covid-19 treatment.
According to CNN, President Trump proved very reluctant to be hospitalized. Even though he had symptoms of Covid-19 and was on experimental medication, he did not want to go there.
Knowing the President did not want to show himself seriously ill, advisers tried to show Mr. Trump’s symptoms were mild. However, on October 2, some medical officials began to show concern, and proposed to monitor his condition with the advanced equipment of the Walter Reed Military Medical Center. They recommend this as a suitable place, in case the President’s condition worsens.
“The White House is committed to regular and transparent updates on the status and recovery of the President,” – Judd Deere, a spokesman for the White House, said.
The decision was made by senior officials, after the stock market session closed. Trump then, looking quite tired and somewhat pale, stepped out of the plane himself. He stopped in front of the camera several times, waved his hand, and left.
Mr. Trump’s health condition
At the end of the Tuesday morning press conference, doctors said the President was on track to recover well, but constantly evaded questions about his health, including whether he needed to be. assisted oxygen over the past few days, and the highest body temperature recorded.
“The President’s condition this morning was very good,” – said Dr. Sean Conley. “We are very excited about this progress.”
But then, another source expressed concern about Mr. Trump’s health in the hospital: “The situation of the President over the past 24 hours is very worrying, and the next 48 hours will be the most important. We are still not clear on the path of his full recovery.”
According to an unnamed source, President Trump appeared to have difficulty breathing on October 2, and had to breathe oxygen before entering the hospital. However, Dr. Conley denied this information, saying the President does not need oxygen at any time.
Currently, Mr. Trump has been treated with the antiviral drug Remdesivir on a 5-day schedule, although he mentioned earlier that another drug is being tested, but is not allowed to use.
Mr. Trump on the evening of October 3 posted a video from the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he was under treatment for Covid-19, saying he was better and “soon returned”. He expressed his gratitude to the medical team at Walter Reed and the American people and world leaders for sharing and sending wishes for his recovery.
After he was hospitalized, Trump posted several videos on Twitter, saying he was feeling better and would return soon.
