Mr. Trump: ‘Winning is easy, losing is never easy’

Walking out in front of a crowd of reporters gathered at the election headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, on the evening of November 3 (local time), US President Donald Trump made a few remarkable statements.

The 74-year-old leader started by introducing his team, the people standing next to him, and telling them “this is the media, they are very kind”. Trump’s jokes made both sides laugh, because he had clashed and targeted many reporters during the four years of the presidency.

Trump later asserted that his campaign team “are all politically savvy young people”, even asserting that “one day, some of these men will become president” .

“I think you’re going to see some big results,” he said when he heard that everything was going well in Florida. “Everyone should come together and success brings us together.”

When the reporters asked if he had prepared speeches in case of winning or losing this election, Trump said: “I have not thought of preparing a losing speech. Win is easy, losing is not easy. It’s not easy for me, not easy”, he said.

Mr Trump also affirmed “there is great solidarity in the country”, pointing to the fact that 50,000 or more people are gathering to support him “we have never seen before”.

While talking, the White House boss also claimed that he “saved more than 2 million lives”, although Covid-19 has so far caused more than 230,000 Americans to die.

The race for the 46th US presidency is coming to an end, with very tight votes for Donald Trump and his Democratic candidate Joe Biden. As of 9:30 p.m. on November 3 (local time), Mr. Trump won in 15 states, winning 101 electoral votes, while rival Biden won in 12 states, having 121 votes.
